Economic impact

iAccelerate's impact report for 2022 highlights another year of outstanding results where we continue to be a leader in Australia's innovation ecosystem.

Combining world-class resources of the University of Wollongong with entrepreneurs, businesses and investors our expertise and strengths are creating positive impact in our local and global communities.

Supporting innovative companies

By the end of 2022 iAccelerate has supported 316 companies in total.

With 2 intakes in 2022, iAccelerate supported 24 new companies  through the program.

Supporting innovative companies

Since its inception, iAccelerate has delivered 1013 new jobs from companies actively engaged as members of our program (this does not include ongoing job creation by our Alumni).

In 2022 we delivered 109 new jobs to the community (not including our founders).

Gender Equality

52% of iAccelerate companies have at least 1 active female founder.

Our aim is to have women represented equally in our ecosystem. We have shown consistent above national and international results over the past 6 years: 41% (2021) 46% (2020), 47% (2019), 50% (2018), 42% (2017) and 35% (2016).

First Nations Entrepreneurs

In 2022  12 First Nations entrepreneurs were supported over three regions in the RISE first Nations program.

We have fostered entrepreneurship throughout regional NSW delivering the RISE program in:

  • Snowy Monaro

Making sales

Generating over $61.1M revenue in 2022 and $341M+ since 2016.


Money into the economy

We've helped inject $110.2M into the economy through wages and contractor payments since we began and $33.6M in combined salaries / wages and payments to contractors in 2022. 

Investment

Over $31.38M raised by iAccelerate Companies in equity capital, debt capital and grants.

Products and IP

iAccelerate companies continue to launch and  develop new products.
