Global Experience

As the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) take centre stage in today’s business environment, Belinda is helping future business leaders understand their decisions and their impacts on the environment and society.

Belinda’s work as part of the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education allows her to collaborate with institutions worldwide.

“Since 2015 when 193 member states signed Agenda 2030, the 17 UN SDGs have infiltrated higher education and become a core component of learning conversation. These conversations are very quickly being embedded in research and governance activities across sectors as our society, environment and economy looks to for ways to ensure we evolve to meet the challenges of our time,” she says.

Named as one of UOW’s Impact Makers (read here) Belinda brings valuable global experience to iAccelerate both as an academic and as an advocate of creating meaningful businesses. As an expert-in-residence, Belinda is motivated to integrate business and sustainability among our residents.

About Belinda

Belinda enjoys working with local high schools to develop their love of business studies and open their eyes to university offerings.

“The UN SDGs provide us with a common lens through which we can begin to tackle the complexity of sustainable development and the interconnectedness of economics, social issues and the environment BUT these challenges cannot be solved without new ways to respond to these inter-related risks and to translate them into innovation opportunities. As more startups work on addressing the world’s most pressing challenges, accelerators and incubators are critical to allow creative solutions to emerge,” Belinda shares.

Her work involves integrating the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) foundations, the Sustainable Development Goals realisation and striving to ensure business higher education is realistic and engaging.

Welcome to iAccelerate, Belinda!
