Kylie Flament joins iAccelerate as our newest Expert in Residence

The team at iAccelerate are delighted to announce that Kylie Flament has recently joined us as our newest Expert-in-Residence alongside current experts-in residence Frank Marzano and Belinda Gibbons. Frank, Co-Founder and Director of iTree Pty, specialises as our Product Management and Strategy Expert and Belinda’s work as part of the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education enables her to offer expertise in applying UN SDGS to all facets of business.
Kylie is an internationally-recognised leader in sustainability and social enterprise. She brings a wealth of experience in business growth and operations, purpose and impact, and community leadership. She is the winner of multiple business awards including Outstanding Young Business Leader 2021.
She comes most recently from Green Connect, a social enterprise employing young people and former refugees in work that helps the environment and the community. During her time at Green Connect Kylie implemented new business streams and built significant partnerships for the organisation. Green Connect now runs five businesses in farming, zero waste, gardening and landscaping, op shops and staffing solutions, and counts some of Australia’s biggest companies and all levels of government amongst their customers, as well as strong community support in the Illawarra.
iAccelerate Director Tamantha Stutchbury recognises the impact Kylie will have for current and incoming residents “Experts in residence are highly valued by our start-ups and the iAccelerate team in supporting the growth of successful leaders and companies. We are excited to have Kylie join our team of Experts in Residence”.
As expert-in residence Kylie will mentor and advise iAccelerate residents, RISE participants and students. She is keen to share her extensive skills in pitching, developing business strategy and raising capital with our community. Kylie will also be able to work with companies on embedding sustainability, diversity and purpose into all aspects of their business.
Kylie commenced on 25 October and is most excited about helping the next generation of entrepreneurs to launch and scale businesses that tackle some of the biggest social and environmental challenges of our time while being operationally sound and financially sustainable.
“Right now we are transitioning to new economies and new ways of doing business incredibly quickly. Businesses need to show their customers and their funders how they’re contributing to building the kind of world that we can and want to live in for generations to come. iAccelerate and UOW are ahead of the curve, having incorporated the UN Sustainable Development Goals into the curriculum and accelerator program for several years already. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to bring my skills and experience in business and impact to the team and look forward to seeing how we can do more business for good in this beautiful place we call home.”
Welcome Kylie!
