GenSpeak recognised at 2018 iAwards

Following on from their success at iAccelerate Pitch earlier in the year iAccelerate residents GenSpeak have won the Undergraduate Tertiary Students NSW award at the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA)’s iAwards on 7th June.
Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA)’s iAwards, celebrating 25 years, is Australia’s leading awards program for innovation in the digital economy.
The iAwards is Australia’s longest running and most broadly scoped innovation recognition program, promoting excellence in the Australian digital ecosystem. The iAwards unearths, recognises and rewards excellence in Australian innovation that is making a difference and has the potential to create positive change for the community – whether this is at home, in the office or on a global scale.
Awards were presented in categories including Business Service Markets, Community Service Markets, Consumer Markets, Industrial & Primary Industries, Infrastructure & Platforms, Students, Public Sector & Government, Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, Big Data, Startups, and the NSW Premier’s iAward for Public Sector Innovation.
Winners and merit recipients across all categories will go on to represent NSW and compete at the National iAwards.
GenSpeak is a language program for everyone. Unlike other language programs it aims to combat social isolation and loneliness in elderly Australians while at the same time providing a unique high level of immersion, proven to be the best way to learn a new language. With a rising ageing population and an increase in multiculturalism, the aged care and language learning markets are beginning to see great changes. By connecting these two changing markets, GenSpeak are taking language learners to the next step towards native proficiency while providing a social community for older Australians feeling the effects of a fast changing world. As a language program with a social conscience GenSpeak can make a positive difference in the community in a way that hasn’t been offered before.
At the start of the year GenSpeak were awarded Best Pitch (Audience) at the iAccelerate Pitch Final after completing the iAccelerate Educate program while completing their undergraduate studies.
